Our Lawrenceville taproom is the primary location for people to experience our beers and food. Because of this, providing an incredible craft beer experience is essential – from the service they receive, the beers and food they enjoy, to the space they drink it in. The taproom manager will be responsible for all aspects of the taproom operations.

As a key member of the Hop Farm Brewing Company team, the Tap Room Manager is accountable for all taproom activities and must have an understanding of POS systems, personnel management is motivated, understands food safety and ensures customer satisfaction. This position requires the ability to manage a team effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant/pub environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of beer, the brewing process and/or the brewing industry very beneficial
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills
  • RAMP certification required.
  • Strong leadership and team building skills.
  • Able to work under pressure while maintaining high standards
  • Cash handling & POS reconciliation experience
  • The ability to move full keg on occasion and up to 35 pounds routinely
  • The ability to move kegs and operate hand truck
  • Clean criminal record
  • Degree: High school diploma minimum
  • Provides consistent customer service and manages operations with passion, integrity, and continually improves proficiency, knowledge and morale of all employees
  • Able to work bar shifts when necessary
  • Book and execute events and planning
  • Understands front-of-house operations
  • Oversees and manages all areas of the taproom and POS system, for in-house and mobile events
  • Ensures positive guest service
  • Able to proactively and quickly assess situations and step in wherever/whenever needed
  • Ensures a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents
  • Collect, evaluate and respond to guest feedback as needed
  • Responsible for the proper training of new employees
  • Assists in the hiring, supervision and peer review of employees
  • Provides ongoing feedback, establishes performance expectations and assists with performance reviews
  • Assist Sales and Marketing in planning and executing social media post

Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Candidate preferred to have a minimum of one year successful taproom management experience
  • Knowledge of and love for craft beer and food
  • Must be able to handle the pressures of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities and recommend appropriate solutions to taproom problems
  • Must possess good communication skills for dealing with diverse staff
  • The ideal candidate will be self motivated, a self-starter, should have self-discipline and the ability to take initiative, take ownership of and complete assignments in a timely manner
  • Strong leadership skills and an outgoing personality are also critical
  • Cicerone Certified Beer Server a plus

Work Environment:

  • Rapid changing flow of business
  • That of a busy brewpub dining area and full service kitchen.
  • Late nights/Early mornings
  • Fast-paced
  • The employee frequently must work in an environment with a moderate to high noise level.

Physical Demands: Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time standing and/or walking. Walking surfaces may Occasionally be wet and/or slippery.

  • Ability to frequently sit, stoop, kneel, crouch.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 55 lbs. safely and with proper body mechanics and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.
