We are seeking a Business Development Director in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead engagements and expand our presence with Northern California clients across industries. As a senior manager, you'll focus on business development and delivery of consulting services, managing a subP&L, client relationships, and team members to ensure profitable growth.

The ideal individual will have deep local market experience in IT and delivery capabilities. You'll bring solutions and thought leadership to clients, thrive in collaborative environments, and be motivated by delivering excellent services and ensuring client satisfaction.

You will drive business development to grow our client base, eventually leading a team of consultants. You'll use your experience and creativity to design and execute solutions for complex client challenges in advanced business and technology environments, lead strategic pursuits, guide proposal building, and ensure successful execution of projects and programs, coordinating with local and global delivery centers.

Future Duties and Responsibilities

  • Business Development and Pipeline Management: Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities within new and existing accounts, leading strategic pursuits and guiding proposal building to create tailored business solutions.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with C-level client executives, aiming to become their trusted advisor and ensuring client satisfaction in partnership with account management teams.
  • Solution Design and Execution: Collaborate with solution architects and SMEs to design, propose, and execute solutions for complex client problems, leveraging creativity and experience in advanced business and technology environments.
  • Service Delivery and Execution: Oversee the successful execution of assignments, projects, and large delivery programs, ensuring service delivery excellence through coordination with local and global delivery centers and vendor partners.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Provide leadership to a team of professionals, including direct reports and global delivery teams, applying best practices in succession planning, performance reviews, and finance management.
  • Strategic Contribution and Profitability Management: Contribute to business strategy and budget planning, managing the profitability of engagements and ensuring the success of global delivery engagements.
  • Growth and Team Expansion: As the business grows, lead a team of senior consultants and consultants within your delivery organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree is a plus.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Over 12 years of experience leading medium to large consulting teams with full responsibility, including recruiting, developing, and inspiring talent.
  • Business Development Expertise: At least 10 years of experience in defining, selling, and delivering complex technology and business solutions in a consulting environment, with a strong track record in business development and strategic deal closure.
  • Financial Acumen: 8+ years of experience in owning or influencing P&L, with proven success in turning around or scaling consulting practices.
  • Strategic Thinking and Decision Making: Exceptional critical thinking and decisionmaking skills, with the ability to prioritize initiatives that drive business growth with minimal guidance.
  • Communication and Presence: Strong presence, selfawareness, and communication skills across all organizational levels, including public speaking and thought leadership.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness and ability to travel as needed.

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for meritbased performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $169,400.00 - $296,500.00.
