About Distyl AI

Distyl AI develops AI native technologies for humans & AI to collaborate to power the operations of the Global Fortune 500.

In just over 24 months, we’ve rapidly grown to partner with some of the world’s largest enterprises—including F100 telecom, healthcare, manufacturing, insurance, and retail companies—delivering multiple AI deployments with $100M+ impact. Our platform, Distillery, along with our team of AI Engineers, Researchers, and Strategists, is pioneering AI-native systems of work, solving the most complex, high-stakes challenges at scale.

Distyl is founded and led by proven leaders from companies like Palantir, Apple, and top national laboratories. We work in deep partnership with OpenAI, jointly going-to-market at the largest enterprises and collaborating, evaluating, and testing the latest models. Backed by Lightspeed, Khosla, Coatue, industry leaders like Nat Friedman (former GitHub CEO), and board members of over 20+ F500s, Distyl is building the future of AI-powered enterprise operations.

What We Are Looking For

The Cloud & DevOps Engineer role is an engineering position on our Platform team focused on ensuring that Distillery, our AI platform, is easily deployable, scalable, and reliable across customer-hosted cloud and on-prem environments.

This is a hands-on role where you will support infrastructure deployments, contribute to automation pipelines, and collaborate with senior engineers to improve the reliability, security, and performance of our systems. You’ll gain experience across cloud infrastructure, developer experience tooling, and enterprise DevOps practices while helping shape how AI is deployed at the world’s largest companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy & Manage Cloud Infrastructure – Collaborate with internal teams and customer engineering groups to deploy Distillery in public cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments. Support scalable, observable, and resilient systems using Kubernetes and cloud-native architecture patterns.

  • Build & Maintain Infrastructure as Code – Contribute to and evolve reusable, modular Terraform configurations that enable consistent deployments across AWS and Azure. Emphasize clarity, versioning, and environment parity using GitOps and IaC best practices.

  • Automate & Reduce Operational Overhead – Identify opportunities to eliminate manual effort across the platform lifecycle—from provisioning to configuration management—and implement automation to improve reliability, speed, and security.

  • Enable Developer Productivity & Self-Service – Build internal tooling and abstractions that empower developers to deploy, test, and monitor services independently, using best practices in CI/CD, environment provisioning, and local development workflows.

  • Secure & Harden Deployments – Work across infrastructure and application layers to apply security controls, manage access, and meet enterprise compliance standards. Support threat modeling, secrets management, and secure service-to-service communication.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure roles.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes , including deploying and managing containerized workloads.

  • Proficient with Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code tools.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines , using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, or Flux.

  • Familiar with observability tools like OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, or DataDog.

  • Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP); multi-cloud exposure is a plus.

  • Basic understanding of networking and systems , including VPCs, DNS, load balancers, and access controls.

  • Proficient in scripting with Python , especially for automation, internal tooling, or CI/CD workflows.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills , with the ability to work across engineering and customer teams.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to shape AI infrastructure for Fortune 500 companies.

  • A role at the intersection of cloud, AI, and automation , working alongside elite engineers and AI researchers.

  • Competitive salary, benefits, and equity in a high-growth startup.

  • Hybrid work environment – 3 days a week in our NYC office.

If you’re passionate about scalable infrastructure, automation, and making AI systems deployable, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now and help define the future of AI-powered enterprise infrastructure!

Note: Distyl is a hybrid working environment and requires in office collaboration 3 days a week. This role will be based in our office in New York City.
