Donor Center Phlebotomist – American Red Cross We are hiring for a Donor Center Phlebotomist at the American Red Cross. Paid phlebotomy training is provided; prior medical experience is not required, but phlebotomy experience is preferred. What you will do (Key Responsibilities) Take time to personally connect with donors, listen to their stories, and explain how their donation makes an impact. Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment so volunteer donors feel comfortable returning. Be detail oriented to ensure collected blood meets goals, regulatory requirements, and is safe for transfusion. Schedule & Compensation Shift details: 4 x 10 hour shifts; weekends required. Schedule is variable and may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays; schedule provided 2–3 weeks in advance. Starting pay: $18.80/hour. What you need to succeed (Minimum Qualifications) Associates degree or a combination of education and work experience. Minimum one year of customer service experience in a public setting. Current, valid driver’s license with good driving record. Physical ability to lift/push/pull heavy weights, sit or stand for long periods, and adapt to long/irregular hours and schedule changes. Basic computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Qualifications Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (e.g., CNA, MA, EMT). Prior leadership experience.
