About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its strategic vision and expand its presence as a cultural and economic anchor. The successful candidate will be a results-driven leader with a proven record in fundraising, donor cultivation, and major investment. Key responsibilities include overseeing all operations, finances, programming, and staff, and serving as the primary spokesperson and ambassador. The role demands a visionary leader who can foster a culture of innovation, inspire collaboration, and ensure the organization's mission is effectively communicated and upheld. The Executive Director will also be responsible for community engagement, board development, and governance, as well as personnel and facilities management. Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should have a minimum of five years' experience in nonprofit leadership, with a strong background in strategic leadership, fundraising, and community engagement. The role requires a deep commitment to African American and Black arts and culture, particularly in Southern or diasporic contexts. The ideal candidate will be a charismatic unifier, demonstrating personal accountability, project management skills, and a strong understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion. A proven track record in nonprofit financial management and governance practices is essential, as is the ability to engage diverse communities and stakeholders at various levels. The Executive Director will be expected to lead with diplomacy, flexibility, and a strong commitment to the mission of the organization.
