Job Description

Sportsman Boats Mfg is looking for our next Facility Maintenance Technician to help keep things running smoothly and areas clean and tidy.   A typical day will involve installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment as well as assisting with plant clean ups and spills.    

What you will do:
  • Install and maintain the plant facility’s equipment
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities
  • Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and make adjustments
  • Keep areas inside and outside of plant clean and orderly, disposing of industry related materials
  • Perform minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
  • Inspect buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair making notes and recommendations
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, trouble shooting and repair of production machines
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Install, position, and organize offices and space (e.g. furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various hand, power and specialty tools, dollies and hand trucks
  • Prepare the surfaces and paint various structures and equipment (e.g. walls, floors, roofs, doors, restroom facilities, etc.) to and maintain a safe, comfortable working environment using various painting equipment and related tools (e.g. sprayers, rollers, brushes, thinners, etc.)
  • Execute additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
To be considered you must have:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to use small tools, drive forklift, operating air/hand tools, saws, drills and grinders
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Basic to advanced understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to meet or exceed the company’s attendance and punctuality standards
