We are seeking a skilled Operator/Mechanic to join our team, responsible for the daily work and maintenance on a farm. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge base. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient operation of farm machinery and equipment, contributing to our agricultural operations.

Duties

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on farm machinery and equipment, including tractors and irrigation systems.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repairs effectively.
• Conduct inspections to identify issues with machinery and perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
• Assist in the operation of heavy equipment as needed for various tasks around the farm.
• Provide animal care and handling as required, ensuring the well-being of livestock.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed on all equipment.

Qualifications

• Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair and maintenance.
• Supervising experience is preferred, demonstrating leadership abilities within a team setting.
• Familiarity with animal husbandry practices and animal care is a plus.
• Experience operating forklifts and heavy machinery is essential.
• Knowledge of horticulture, greenhouse operations, and growing techniques is beneficial.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties.
• Proficiency in basic math skills for measuring and calculating necessary specifications during repairs.
