PURPOSE AND NATURE OF WORK
Performs construction repair and maintenance of the LFT Fiber communications system. Work includes installation of cable onto utility poles ranging from single pole spans to multiple pole spans as needed for project. Analyzes reports of problems and troubleshoots system components from the head-end building to and including customer premise equipment and internal wiring. Work is technical in nature and is performed with considerable independence at remote locations or after usual working hours and includes a 24-hour on-call rotation schedule.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of vocational technical school in electronics telecommunications or a related field with experience in the construction and maintenance of fiber optic communications systems or similar systems. Knowledge of construction standards specifications and regulations affecting fiber optic projects. Experience in power space as well as telecommunications preferred. Possession of Class A CDL is a plus.
TYPE OF EXAMINATION - Examination will be a multiple-choice test.
