Job Title: Head Middle School Football Coach Location: St. Labre Indian Catholic School, Ashland, Montana Reports To: Athletic Director / Middle School Principal Position Type: Seasonal / Stipend Position Job Summary: St. Labre Indian Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Head Middle School Football Coach to lead and develop the football program for grades 6-8. The ideal candidate will emphasize character, teamwork, discipline, and academic success, while fostering a culturally responsive and respectful environment for students of the Northern Cheyenne and Crow Nations. Key Responsibilities: Plan, organize, and supervise all aspects of the middle school football program. Teach fundamental football skills, rules, strategies, and safety practices. Promote sportsmanship, leadership, and respect both on and off the field. Create a safe and inclusive environment that honors Native American traditions and student identity. Coordinate with assistant coaches, school staff, and parents to ensure student-athlete success. Monitor academic progress and support athletes in meeting eligibility standards. Manage and maintain equipment and uniforms responsibly. Communicate practice and game schedules clearly and in a timely manner. Attend all games, practices, meetings, and required trainings. Follow all school, league, and MHSA rules and regulations. Qualifications: Previous coaching experience preferred, especially at the middle school level. Knowledge of football fundamentals, strategies, and safety protocols. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). MHSA coaching certification (or willingness to complete training). Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to serve as a positive role model and mentor. Cultural sensitivity and a commitment to working with Native American youth. Preferred Qualifications: Experience coaching in a school setting or working with Native American students. Teaching certification or paraprofessional experience is a plus. Familiarity with Positive Coaching Alliance or similar coaching models. Compensation: • Stipend: • Competitive seasonal stipend.
