Overview

We are seeking a Service Manager to lead operations at a newly established specialty equipment branch in Des Moines, IA. This role is responsible for managing daily service operations, overseeing a technician team, ensuring equipment reliability, and building customer relationships. The ideal candidate has a background in service management within equipment rental, construction, or HVAC-related industries, with strong leadership and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily service operations, scheduling, and technician workload.
• Manage shop readiness, preventative maintenance programs, and fleet efficiency.
• Hire, train, and lead service technicians as the branch builds out its team.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and operational standards.
• Serve as primary point of contact for customers regarding service, repairs, and equipment needs.
• Oversee warranty processing, parts ordering, and accurate work order documentation.
• Collaborate with branch leadership on operational goals and customer service delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in service management, commercial HVAC, or equipment rental preferred.
• Experience supervising and developing teams of technicians or service personnel.
• Familiarity with commercial HVAC, mechanical systems, or heavy equipment a plus.
• Strong organizational, scheduling, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage customer relationships and resolve service issues effectively.
• Proficiency with work order systems, safety compliance, and warranty processes.
