Command Digital is seeking an Imposition & Desktop Prepress Operator for the 1st shift (7 AM - 3 PM) and 2nd shift (3 PM - 11 PM) for a fast-paced digital printing company.

As a Prepress Operator (entry-level), you will help prepare customer files for presses across three divisions, serving as a bridge between digital workflow and production. Youll learn the ropes of file validation, automation, and quality control, with opportunities to gain skills in scripting and workflow optimization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review incoming customer files (PDF, AI, InDesign, TIFF, etc.) for completeness and correctness
• Perform preflight checks: fonts, color modes, bleed, overprint, transparency flattening, resolution, etc.
• Fix and correct customer files as needed using prepress tools and applications
• Learn and use PitStop actions to automate file corrections and checks
• Impose layouts (using Preps Imposition or equivalent tools) for various press types
• Convert file formats, adjust color, proof, and prepare files for production
• Assist in developing or modifying automation tasks (potential exposure to Java or scripting over time)
• Work collaboratively with production and press teams to resolve issues and meet deadlines
• Maintain version control, file archival, and production logs
• Operate with a zero-defect mindset minimal tolerance for errors
• Other duties as assigned

Required:

• Proficient computer skills (Mac primary; PC skills a plus)
• Strong organizational skills; ability to work independently without constant oversight
• Excellent attention to detail and quality no mistakes mindset
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a production/prepress environment

Pluses (not required, training provided):

• Adobe Acrobat (production use)
• Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Enfocus PitStop, Kodak Prinergy, Preps Imposition
• Microsoft Word & Excel
• Scripting or coding exposure (Java or similar)
