Senior Investigator – Public Integrity Division
Office of the Attorney General – State of Mississippi

This is a sworn law enforcement officer position within the Public Integrity Division of the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting complex criminal investigations involving public corruption, misconduct by public officials, election fraud, and other violations of law that undermine the integrity of state and local government operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into alleged violations of criminal law involving public officials, agencies, and governmental entities.
  • Collect, analyze, and document evidence through interviews, surveillance, public records research, subpoenas, and other investigative methods.
  • Prepare clear and detailed investigative reports that may be used in legal proceedings.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, law enforcement agencies, and other government bodies to ensure investigations are comprehensive and legally sound.
  • Testify in court or administrative hearings as needed.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate a high degree of ethical conduct in all aspects of investigative work.

  • Exceptional attention to detail in collecting, preserving, and reporting evidence.

  • Proficient in conducting interviews, preparing reports, and communicating findings effectively.

Minimum Qualification: Suggested

  • 60 semester hours of college coursework (or equivalent experience as approved by the Mississippi State Personnel Board).
  • Possession of a State of Mississippi Law Enforcement Professional Certification.
  • 2–4 years of law enforcement experience; investigative experience in white collar crime, public corruption, or related areas is preferred.
  • Related experience may be substituted for education based on guidelines set by the Department Head and the Mississippi State Personnel Board.
