Job Description

540 is looking for a Lead Data Engineer that will serve as Advana’s Budget Analytics Lead for the MHS "Caduceus" (Financial Management Data Analytics Stream for the Defense Health Program Portfolio).

The project engages with many systems and data sources across DoD and DHA to build and manage data products by aggregating data in new ways. The goal is to create, lead, and grow a data community focused on defense health and financial data. You will be the main technical point of contact for all projects across this portofolio and help guide the overall vision for the platform by engaging directly with the core Advana team who manages all of their backend tools and processes. 

Location : Arlington, VA with plenty of work from home
Citizenship & Clearance Requirement : per client requirements, must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance
Education Requirement:  Bachelor’s Degree

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• 8+ years of related experience


• Experience leading technical design and architecture 


• Experience engaging with clients and other stakeholders


• Well-versed in Python


• Experience building and managing data pipelines 


• Proficient in data analytics tools such as Databricks


• Experience building dashboards using PowerBI and/or similar data analytics tools


• Experience working via the terminal / command line


• Experience consuming data via APIs


• Hands on experience using Jira and Confluence


• Responsibilities include:




• Ensuring appropriate GL files are loaded recurrently into Advana for access by Caduceus


• Working with HRM&P Lead to develop leadership work views for oversight of DHP appropriation


• Management of access to MHS Advana Community products


• Working with HRM&P Lead to prioritize Advana data product requirements


• Developing recurring and ad hoc financial datasets


• Developing Advana datasets and analytical products to enable the MHS reporting on all Financial System data

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• AWS cloud experience


• Experience maintaining data pipelines with tables containing over a billion rows / records


• Experience building, deploying and managing Qlik dashboards


• Experience in or with Advana


• Experience with GitLab


• Experience working with DoD systems


• Experience working with financial systems
