Job Title: Mechanic & Robotics Technician

Job Location" Edison, NJ

Job Type: Contract to Hire

Pay Range: $30-34/Hour Job Description

As a Mech & Robotics Technician, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Operations Maintenance team by repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems within the building. You will also have the opportunity to install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment. Additionally, you will be able to mentor junior technicians and help them grow in their roles.

Responsibilities
  • Promote a safe working environment by adhering to all safety procedures.
  • Complete preventative maintenance routines with accurate documentation.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues related to Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including belts, motors, photo-eyes, and relays.
  • Maintain positive working relationships throughout the facility.
  • Manage and store department inventory effectively.
  • Perform tasks involving lifting up to 49 pounds and standing or walking during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Travel may be required up to 20% of the time.
Essential Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Proficiency in PC applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • 1 year of experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Associate or higher degree from a vocational school or college focused on Mechanical or Electrical fields.
  • 2 years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.
  • 2 years of experience in repairing material handling equipment.
  • 2 years of experience in conducting predictive and preventative maintenance.
  • 1 year of experience in metal and wood fabrication.
  • 1 year of experience in reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • 1 year of knowledge in electrical and electronic principles.
  • Experience with MHE safety standards per OEM and safety standards.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Experience with robotic or electromechanical operation and maintenance.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.
