Located in Baltimore’s cultural center near the historic Mount Vernon neighborhood, UMMC Midtown Campus is a 180-bed, community teaching hospital with a focus on helping people manage chronic diseases, including diabetes, hypertension, pulmonary conditions, and infectious diseases.

Job Description

1. Gathers and documents brief history and chief complaint in the medical record/EMR.
2. Follows established guidelines to obtain necessary testing based on the chief complaint prior to the exam. Prepares patient for examination by the health care provider.
3. Performs routine clinic testing, including but not limited to; urinalysis, vision testing, ear cleaning, EKGs, fingersticks, pulmonary function testing, temperature, pulse and blood pressure.
4. Assists provider with procedures and minor surgical procedures.
5. Obtains necessary blood and urine specimens.
6. Administers medications via different routes including but not limited to; IM, intradermal, and inhalation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience required
• CPR certification required
• Experience with Epic preferred

Additional Information

All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines. The Medical Assistant PRN would be used to fill needs when full-time staff are unavailable, or acuity warrants additional assistance. Needs would be for day shift hours anytime from 0700-1700. Hours are not guaranteed. 

  Compensation

• Pay Range: $19.50-$27.30
