Pride Health is seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician for a 26-week contract with a* renowned hospital in Paris, Illinois*. This opportunity offers hands-on diagnostic work in a collaborative lab environment with exposure to diverse patient populations.

Duration: 26 weeks

Shift: Nights – Four 10-hour shifts per week, includes rotating weekends and holidays

EMR System: Athena

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform moderate and high-complexity testing in chemistry, hematology, serology, and urinalysis
• Collect arterial, venous, and capillary blood specimens
• Conduct transfusion procedures and manage blood product documentation
• Perform quality control per department standards and enter results into the hospital system (HIS)
• Support point-of-care testing, specimen processing, and clerical duties
• Provide instruction to MLT students and new employees as needed
• Attend in-service education and contribute to department meetings
• Maintain compliance with hospital safety and infection control policies

Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree in Medical Technology
• Certification from a recognized national body
• Strong phlebotomy skills across all age groups – Preferred
• Familiarity with lab analyzers and computer systems – Preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology – Preferred
• Less than 1 year of full-time lab experience accepted for this role

Certifications:

• MLT (ASCP or AMT)
• BLS certification
