Overnight Campus Security Officer
Location: Lowell, MA

Rate: $19.25/hour
Securitas Security Services is hiring for multiple Security Officers on our client site in Lowell, MA to work overnight hours on a college campus. The Overnight Campus Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of students, staff, faculty, visitors, and campus property during overnight hours. This role involves regular patrols, emergency response, incident reporting, and maintaining a visible, approachable presence on campus.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols of campus buildings, parking lots, and grounds during overnight hours.
Monitor security systems including surveillance cameras, alarms, and access control systems.
Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, emergencies, and requests for assistance.
Provide escorts for students and staff as requested for safety.
Enforce campus rules and regulations, including access restrictions and parking policies.
Document and report incidents, suspicious activity, and safety hazards.
Work cooperatively with local law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary.
Secure buildings by locking/unlocking doors, checking windows, and ensuring proper lighting.
Assist with emergency evacuations, fire drills, and fire-aid response when needed.
Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Previous security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred.
Ability to remain alert and attentive during overnight shifts.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong observational and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to de-escalate situations calmy and professionally.
Comfortable working independently and under limited supervision.
Physical ability to walk, stand, and climb stairs for extended periods and in all weather conditions.
