If you enjoy working outdoors in a collaborative work environment and would like the opportunity to care for your community by providing quality services and maintenance for the city's parks, grounds, and related areas come join our Parks Grounds and Maintenance team as the new Senior Parks Technician!
Minimum Qualifications - High school diploma or successful completion of the GED.
- A minimum of (3) three years of experience in one of the functional areas of parks landscaping and grounds maintenance or apprentice level experience in one or more of the skilled crafts as carpentry, plumbing, mechanical or electrical work.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driver's record based on the City of Hampton's criteria.
- This position is safety sensitive and is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City's current substance abuse policy.
- Must successfully pass a background check related to this position prior to any offer of employment or promotion.
Additional Requirements - Requires effective communication with internal and external customers.
- Requires shift work to include evenings, weekends, and holidays and on-call emergency standby on a rotating basis.
- The incumbent may be considered "essential personnel" during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager which may include long hours and unusual schedules.
