Job Description

Portfolio Manager II Under minimal supervision, manages a portfolio of existing, complex customer relationships to ensure ongoing profitability and full compliance with credit terms. Promotes the sale of additional financial services. Maintains a moderate understanding of commercial, economic, and financial circumstances affecting customers and prospects. Coordinates with internal partners to support servicing of the existing customer base. Position Responsibilities: Portfolio and Risk Management Retain and manage existing loan portfolio, including all reviews and renewals for complex credit accounts. Assess whether relationships continue to pose acceptable risks. Decide loan terms within own credit limits or recommend to appropriate authority. Develop and maintain direct customer relationships, including a minimum of two in-person contacts per year. Oversee credit support in underwriting for renewals and reviews. Contribute qualitative input for RECAP creation. Prepare for and participate in loan committees and credit quality reviews. Coordinate with Loan Closers to facilitate renewals or amendments. Adhere to Risk Management policies, ensuring regulatory compliance and credit quality. Monitor loans for compliance and recommend corrective actions for variances. Identify and resolve operational and credit issues with minimal supervision. Manage non-loan credit and product risks, including treasury products. Handle ad hoc and regulatory reporting for the portfolio. Monitor and assist in collecting past due payments, overdrafts, and maturing loans. Provide daily portfolio servicing and credit risk monitoring. Conduct customer interviews to understand their business and financing needs. Moderately understand the customers under management. Guide credit support in underwriting with minimal supervision. Profitability Identify and close financial solutions for retention and expansion with minimal supervision. Retain existing portfolio profitability. Client Involvement Attend client meetings with minimal assistance. Additional Duties Promote the bank's image through community and business development activities. Position Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. Completion of formal credit training. At least 3 years of commercial underwriting, credit, or lending experience. Work best in Category B: 3-4 days in office, 1-2 days remote. Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Salary range in California: $97,750 - $155,250 annually, subject to change based on various factors including location, experience, and peer compensation.
