Job Title: Pre-Analytical Assistant I (Lab Assistant)
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Duration: 3–4 Months (possible extension)
Shift: Monday–Friday, Rotating Saturdays, 9:00 PM – 5:30 AM EST
Job Summary:
Supports Technical Operations by handling and processing specimens accurately and efficiently.
General Requirements:
Knowledge of specimen types, handling, and delivery.
Understand compliance and test-ordering regulations.
Flexible, team-oriented, and able to work weekends, holidays, or overtime.
Perform tasks accurately and on time.
Key Tasks:
Sorting, racking, storing, and transporting specimens.
Centrifugation, aliquoting, X-ray machine operation.
Waste handling and inventory management.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Learn and perform assigned duties in Tech Ops and Specimen Processing.
Identify and resolve specimen issues or escalate as needed.
Follow compliance policies and maintain documentation.
Meet quality and productivity standards within 6 months.
Cover for coworkers and assist with departmental needs.
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Medical background and lab experience preferred.
Production or lab environment experience helpful.
Required Skills:
Basic computer/mainframe and data entry skills.
Good organization and attention to detail.
