Job Description The Presales Thermal Engineer HVAC is a Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Solutions Specialist, a crucial member of the Infrastructure Solutions team during the early engagement phases of customer programs. The position requires competencies in HVAC, as well as structural, electromechanical, controls, and related disciplines to provide system-level solutions to customers. Responsibilities Reading and understanding RFP and tender documents Understanding customer requirements provided by SA and sales team Concept design of HVAC architecture and equipment Understanding relevant codes and standards for HVAC equipment and installations CAD Modeling Coordination with other technical disciplines (architectural, structural, electrical, controls, fire protection) Technical project coordination with customers and suppliers Communicating with customers to propose optimal solutions Preparing technical proposals for Vertiv modular data center solutions Providing HVAC design documents Problem solving and interpreting customer requirements in proposed solutions Supporting SA and sales teams Requirements Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering 3+ years of experience in new product development as an individual contributor Dimensioning and specification of HVAC equipment and installations Knowledge of CFD tools and modeling Proficiency in English Solution-based thinking integrating Mechanical and Electrical components for customer deployments Strong communication skills, both written and oral, to collaborate across engineering and manufacturing teams Proficiency with Windows, MS Office (Excel, Word), AutoCAD Our Core Principles & Strategic Priorities Core Principles: Safety, Integrity, Respect, Teamwork, Diversity & Inclusion Strategic Priorities: Customer Focus, Operational Excellence, High-Performance Culture, Innovation, Financial Strength Our Behaviors Own It Act With Urgency Foster a Customer-First Mindset Think Big and Execute Lead by Example Drive Continuous Improvement Learn and Seek Development Opportunities About Vertiv Vertiv is a $6.9 billion global company specializing in critical infrastructure and data center solutions, ensuring continuous operation of vital applications worldwide.
