ZT Labels is a Tempe, AZ based manufacturing company that specializes in custom labeling solutions. We are looking for a Press Operator / Production Worker I to join our team! The Press Operator is responsible for performing production work to applicable performance standards. Working effectively in a team environment, the Press Operator will start up, operate, tend, and stop a variety of equipment while maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Taking instruction from the level III Production Worker or the Operations Manager, the Press Operator will ensure conformance to all specifications, document actions by completing production and quality forms and report any and all equipment faults to supervisors. The Press Operator’s responsibilities will range from operating automated machinery, packaging and measuring. The Press Operator will use their authority to stop a non-conforming part or product by notifying their Supervisor or Quality Inspector as soon as possible. This position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.
Priority Qualifications
Machine operation experience, familiar with automated equipment.
Experience with Mark Andy 2200 is a huge plus (Flexo Tech)
Ability to work in a high volume fast paced open shop environment.
Ability to adapt to changing work tasks throughout the day as needed.
Willingness to learn multiple job functions and become a valuable team member.
Job Requirements & Responsibilities
Start up, operate, tend, and stop a variety of equipment to performance standards.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Understand and ensure conformance to specifications, stop any non-conforming parts or products.
Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
Work to applicable performance standards.
Take instructions from supervisors and production manager.
Able to work effectively in a team environment.
Report visual and audible equipment faults to supervisors.
ISO, LEAN or other quality system experience are a plus.

The Press Operator / Production Worker I must demonstrate cognitive ability to, follow directions and routines, work independently with appropriate judgment, exhibit spatial awareness, read words and numbers, concentrate, memorize, and recall, identify logical connections and determine sequence of response and process up to 2-3 steps ahead. Ability to attend work on a regular, predictable and consistent basis and to commute to and from work safely and arrive at work on time.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to airborne particulates, moving mechanical parts and vibrations. The noise level can be loud at times. Physical Demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. This position involves a variety of repetitive processes such as insertion of materials, alignment by hand and rotating fixtures by hand. The position also involves sitting, talking and, hearing throughout the day. The employee must also be able to safely lift up to 49 pounds or less repeatedly during the 8-10hour shift.
