Job Description/ Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Safety Officer to join our team. With the primary goal of establishing a safe workplace, this candidate will be responsible for traveling throughout the United States and Canada promoting a safe working environment by advising on safety measures, conducting risk assessments, enforcing preventative measures, and fostering a positive safety culture.

Job Responsibilities:

· Conduct workplace audits and investigations related to safety concerns, incidents, and accidents.

· Conduct regular inspections of vehicles, equipment, and materials to ensure adherence of OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations.

· Regularly inspect work zones to identify potential hazards to mitigate risks and Initiate corrective actions process, if required.

· Communicate with and engage local management and workers to ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.

· Planned and unplanned task observations, to review effectiveness of Health and Safety policy and procedures

· Procedure, Policy, and Document development as directed by management.

· Ability to walk and/or stand throughout entire shift, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

· Ability and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions

· Additional tasks as assigned within the safety and operational scope

Qualifications:

· Working knowledge of Temporary Traffic Control (Preferred)

· Working knowledge of MUTCD, and OSHA Regulations and Requirements

· Basic understanding of DOT, and EPA Regulations and Requirements

· Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety

· Experience with root cause and data analysis (Preferred)

· Experience with reporting statistics and identifying trends (Preferred)

· Strong attention to detail and organization skills

· Strong working knowledge of Office 365

· Valid passport

· Valid Driver’s license with a clean driving record

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
