School Nurse

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to students for injuries, illnesses, and chronic conditions during the school day.
• Assess student health concerns promptly and communicate care plans clearly to families and staff.
• Administer daily medications and treatments according to physician orders and school policies.
• Maintain up-to-date and organized health records and immunization documentation.
• Promote student health and wellness through education, awareness, and school health initiatives.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administration to support each student’s holistic wellbeing.
• Assist in monitoring and preventing communicable diseases within the school community.
• Respond quickly and calmly to health emergencies or urgent situations.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain before start).
• Experience with pediatrics, school settings, or youth programs preferred, but new graduates with strong clinical skills are encouraged to apply.
• Strong communication skills and a caring, approachable presence.
• Ability to prioritize effectively and remain calm in fast-paced situations.
• Organized and detail-oriented to maintain accurate health records and documentation.
