We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Senior Property Accountant to join our dynamic Commercial Real Estate team. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial success of our commercial properties. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all accounting activities related to our commercial real estate portfolio, including shopping centers. This role requires a deep understanding of commercial real estate accounting principles, Yardi, MRI, and accruals.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all financial and accounting functions for the commercial real estate portfolio, including shopping centers.
2. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
3. Manage the monthly financial close process, ensuring all revenue and expenses are accurately recorded.
4. Conduct regular balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
5. Utilize Yardi and MRI software to streamline accounting procedures and improve financial reporting.
6. Prepare annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts for all properties.
7. Coordinate with external auditors to ensure all financial information is accurately presented and supported.
8. Collaborate with property managers and operational teams to provide financial insights and recommendations.
9. Ensure all accounting activities comply with financial regulations and standards.
10. Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial real estate accounting.
3. Proficient in Yardi and MRI software.
4. Extensive knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles related to commercial real estate.
5. Experience with shopping center accounting is a plus.
6. Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
8. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
9. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently.
10. CPA certification is a plus.
