We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Property Accountant to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a critical role in managing the financial aspects of our diverse real estate portfolio, which includes commercial, office, industrial, and mixed-use properties. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of property accounting principles and be proficient in MRI, RealPage, and GAAP.

Responsibilities:

As a Property Accountant, you will be responsible for:

1. Managing and executing all aspects of property accounting for a portfolio of commercial, office, industrial, and mixed-use properties.
2. Preparing and analyzing financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
3. Handling CAM reconciliations and charges, ensuring accuracy and compliance with lease agreements.
4. Working closely with property managers and other team members to ensure accurate and timely reporting of property financials.
5. Implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
6. Assisting with budget preparation and financial planning processes.
7. Participating in the preparation of financial audits.
8. Resolving accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
9. Using property management software such as MRI and RealPage to streamline accounting processes and generate insightful financial reports.
10. Staying updated on industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance and excellence in property accounting practices.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this position should have the following qualifications:

1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, preferably in the mortgage industry.
3. Proficiency in property management software, including MRI and RealPage.
4. Extensive experience with CAM reconciliations and charges.
5. A solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting, specifically GAAP.
6. Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
10. A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.
11. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred but not required.
