Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A dynamic opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support a 6th-grade student in a middle school setting. This in-person position is aimed at facilitating effective munication and enhancing the educational experience for the student throughout the 2024-2025 school year.

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (NIC or equivalent)
• Proven experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly with children
• Strong interpersonal and munication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
• Knowledge of deaf culture and practices

Location: Presque Isle, ME

Responsibilities:

• Provide interpretation services for the student in classroom settings
• Collaborate with educational staff to ensure seamless munication
• Support the students participation in all aspects of school life
• Attend meetings and participate in professional development opportunities as required
• Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and student progress
