About the role:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Tax Manager to join our relationship-focused firm and play a key role in delivering exceptional service to our clients, small businesses, and trust and estate clients. In this hands-on leadership role, you will act as a player-coach, managing the tax team while actively contributing to tax planning, review, and compliance. You will work closely with a diverse client base—including individuals, trusts, S-corporations, partnerships, and small-to-mid-sized C-corporations—providing personalized guidance and strategic insight.

Essential Duties:

In this role you will:

Build relationships and lead client engagements, addressing tax implications of complex transactions, identifying opportunities for savings, identifying and mitigate tax risks
Analyze and prepare complex tax returns for a variety of client types and handle all information data requests
Provide innovative tax planning and review complex income tax returns for individuals, businesses, and trusts
Manage the complete accounting and tax cycle for multiple high net worth clients across various industries
Deliver a full range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations within timeframe
Represent clients during IRS and state tax audits, offering comprehensive support and resolution strategies.
Developing tax strategies to minimize liabilities and ensure compliance
Conducting research on tax laws and staying updated on changes
Coordinate accounting staff and assess their performance
Providing guidance to junior tax staff and assisting in their professional development
Oversee the implementation of tax policies and internal procedures to ensure operational efficiency and consistency.
Maintain tax balances on general ledger
Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess an advanced level of experience with tax management, planning, compliance, laws - ideally with a proven track record in a leadership or supervisory role.

Certificates & Licenses:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or
Enrolled Agent (EA) preferred
Preferred Skills:
Public Accounting experience
Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
Experience with trusts and estates is strongly preferred
Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns
Knowledge of QuickBooks, Lacerte, TPS, Adobe and MS Office

Compensation: $115,000-$160,000. This range is a good faith estimate of the compensation to be offered for this position based on the ideal candidate’s qualifications, the Company’s operational needs, and other considerations permitted by law. The actual pay offered to a specific candidate may vary above or below the stated range.
