Our client, a community-oriented CPA firm in The Woodlands seeking a  Public Tax Preparer on a part-time, remote basis to join our dynamic and growing team. This role provides an excellent opportunity for personable and detail-driven tax professionals to contribute to our success while engaging closely with local residents. The position is fully remote, with the requirement that candidates be local to The Woodlands area for occasional in-office collaboration as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review client financial documents and tax-related statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
• Prepare and review various income tax returns and related forms, ensuring completeness and identifying opportunities for tax savings.
• File completed tax returns and assemble final client deliverables for distribution.
• Provide excellent customer service, particularly during client meetings, either in person or via virtual platforms.
• Stay up to date on changes in tax laws and regulations to advise clients effectively.

Requirements:

• Must be local to Houston area, and available to visit the office as needed.
• Minimum of 1 year of tax preparation experience , preferably in a professional environment.
• Active Enrolled Agent (EA) license or an individual currently pursuing EA certification is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills to handle multiple clients and deadlines.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with a focus on providing friendly, professional client service.
• Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
