Steampunk is seeking a Lead Test Engineer who will provide testing and QA expertise in mission-critical work across our client base. Contributions Responsibilities As a Test Engineer Lead , you will deliver quality assurance services to support application, cloud, and data systems development. Responsibilities include: Leading the overall testing effort and deliverables, working with the testing team to ensure that testing is on time and of the highest quality. Test planning activities and estimation, test scope definition with the use of risk-based testing. Implementing governance and reporting processes. Implementing standard processes, methodologies, and tools. Ensuring that the team follows testing standards, guidelines, and testing methodology as specified in the test strategy. Performing all test management activities: resource management, monitoring and control, risks, and issues management. Managing test environment, test data preparation, test tools, and test automation implementation. Collaborating with application and technical architecture teams to plan various test phases. Reviewing tests to ensure they meet entry and exit criteria. Defining and facilitating formal sign-off processes for testing deliverables. Serving as the primary contact and escalation point for testing. Acting as an individual contributor and mentoring junior team members. Presenting regular status updates and providing cross-training to other DevOps team members. Qualifications Required: Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance. Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields. 10+ years of experience in quality assurance and test automation practices in an Agile environment. Experience in Manual and Automated Software Testing, System, Integration, and User Acceptance Testing. Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand complex business and system requirements to provide suitable client solutions. Preferred: Certifications: CAST, ISTQB, CMST, TTv5. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills. Experience documenting current environments, performing gap analyses, and producing actionable artifacts. Experience designing and developing automated testing frameworks. Experience building monitoring systems or enhancing testing effectiveness. About Steampunk Steampunk determines salary based on factors like location, education, skills, and experience. The projected salary range is $110,000 to $175,000, reflecting a typical annual salary.
