Neuro ICU RN Job Details

• Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Virginia healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Neuro ICU – LAC Resource Team
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
• Start Date: November 3, 2025 (biweekly start dates)
• End Date: January 31, 2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: 2-3 weekends per month
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1780 - $1910

ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Virginia or compact state)
• 2-3 years of recent ICU nursing experience required
• Previous travel nurse experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccination or approved declination required
• Experience in a teaching hospital preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Willingness to float to other units as needed
• All time-off requests must be submitted and approved prior to assignment acceptance
• No local travelers accepted within a 60-mile radius

Key Responsibilities for Neuro ICU RN

• Deliver high-quality patient care to individuals with neurological, surgical, and medical diagnoses in the ICU
• Operate and manage advanced clinical equipment: vital sign monitors, glucometers, SCDs, bladder scanners, vein finders, remote telemetry, wound vacs, IV pumps, pulse oximeters, chest tubes, tube feeding pumps, and oxygen delivery devices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including students and new hires, in a teaching hospital setting
• Float to other critical care units as required by hospital staffing needs
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold patient safety standards
• Foster a supportive, educational, and team-oriented environment for healthcare staff
