Pediatric Emergency Department Registered Nurse (Peds ED RN)

We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Emergency Department RN to join our pediatric ED team in a fast paced, high acuity environment. The Peds ED RN provides rapid assessment, stabilization, and ongoing care for infants, children, and adolescents presenting with medical, surgical, and trauma emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform triage and focused pediatric assessments for emergent and non emergent patients, prioritizing care based on acuity
• Initiate and manage pediatric ED protocols including labs, imaging, IV access, medications, fluids, and respiratory support
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond quickly to deterioration, including participation in pediatric trauma activations, respiratory distress, and code situations
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, child life, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate safe, efficient care and throughput
• Provide age appropriate education and emotional support to patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice or compact license
• Minimum two years of recent pediatric emergency or combined ED pediatric experience
• Current BLS ACLS and PALS from the American Heart Association
• Strong pediatric triage skills, critical thinking, and ability to manage multiple high acuity pediatric patients in a dynamic setting
