The Sanitation Technician maintains a clean, safe work environment to include all company property, inside and outside company premises, with specialty training in equipment cleaning in compliance with company Food Safety standards and procedures. The purpose of this form is to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job. While it is a comprehensive description, it is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills of personnel classified.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Effectively cleans food manufacturing production equipment.
  • Understands and follows all assigned tasks(master sanitation schedule) and abides by all safety requirements.
  • Continually meets our commitment to achieve superior service and cleaning levels.
  • Inspects equipment for conformity to federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards.
  • Cleans specific pieces of equipment by taking down equipment, cleaning with appropriate chemicals and re-assembling equipment in accordant to the SSOP's.
  • Performs inspections on equipment cleaned, to verify cleaning effectiveness.
  • Ensures compliance with work instructions (SSOP's), standards & product specifications.
  • Ensures compliance to all safety & environmental regulations (ie, Lock out/Tagout) are achieved & provides direction to team to accomplish these goals.
  • Performs wash downs for changeovers and shut downs.
  • Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, pressure wash or vacuuming them inside and outside of facility.
  • Maintains all areas of Plants including Depositing, and Packing. Using broom, mop, dust pan, squeegees, gather and empty trash, etc
  • Must be willing to take on additional responsibilities and consistently demonstrate problem solving skills in order to excel within the company
  • Must follow the FGF Site attendance policy and must comply with the required call-in procedures.
  • Must be dependable and comply with timely arrival and departure time habits including meals and breaks
  • Required to maintain a positive attitude and co-exist with all FGF Team Members
  • Must exhibit teamwork and willingness to help other FGF Team Members, strive to work within a team environment to meet/exceed established production standards
  • Required to follow a FGF company dress code and maintains a professional appearance
  • Must be able to be relied and depended upon to complete assigned tasks

    Required Skills and Experience

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Sanitation or Related field experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment and manage time safely and without damage.
  • Ability to work with pressure washers, floor scrubbers, sanitizing chemicals etc.
  • Must have experience working in a GMP environment doing manufacturing or sanitation.
  • Must be knowledgeable in areas of chemical usage with a Food Manufacturing facility.
  • Knowledge of proper Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) use as it applies to chemical usage.
  • Ability to multi-tasking in a fast pace environment & attention to detail is required
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to move from one task to another with minimal distraction
  • Physical capable of performing the demands of the role and position
  • Flexible to workdays, afternoons, nights and weekends if needed
  • Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English with all levels of the organization.

  • Sense of Sound (any safety related equipment)
  • Sense of Touch (Machinery, Moving Parts, etc.)
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to remain physically active throughout an entire 12hour shift.
