Position Title: Welder

Wage: $22.00 - $28.00/hour

Shift: 1st or 2nd

Hours: 5:00am – 1:30pm or 1:30pm – 12:00am

Welder Responsibilities:
- Review job orders and interpret welding specifications according to code certifications, alignment, dimensional and general inspection requirements
- Set up jobs, fits and positions of weldments using fixtures, jigs, etc., and various welding techniques, materials and equipment within recognized limits or procedures
- Perform welding and related tasks such as surface preparation, thermal cutting and grinding
- Inspect welds and welded surfaces for proper bonds
- Clean and maintain work area, welding equipment and other tools of the trade

Requirements for Welder:
- At least three years of welding experience
- Able to read and understand weld specs, shop drawings, job layouts and blueprints
- Able to use basic math, measuring instruments, gauges and templates
- Knowledge of working properties of structural metals and welding materials
- Skilled in using and maintaining welding equipment and related tools of the trade
- Working knowledge of standard welding principles and techniques including oxyacetylene welding, arc welding, and inert gas welding (e.g., TIG, MIG)
