Technical Skills:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Proficiency in various welding processes, primarily MIG and TIG welding
Knowledge of AWS welding codes and standards (D1.1 or other applicable codes)
Skill in using measuring and layout tools (tape measures, calipers, squares, etc.)
Experience with fitting, assembling, and aligning steel components
Ability to operate overhead cranes and forklifts safely and efficiently
Technical Ratings:
Class C:
Ability to fit and weld simple fabricated components such as Allfasteners catalog parts and typical beams/columns. Must pass our PQRs to be qualified.
Class B:
Includes Class C requirements plus ability to successfully fit and weld typical fabrications unassisted, e.g. pole extensions, handrails, or custom weldments, including passing CWI and NDE testing. Must be able to demonstrate at least six months of successful experience at the company to be qualified.
Class A:
Includes Class B & C skills plus ability to plan, fit, and weld a wide range of complex and oversized fabrications unassisted, including rigging materials and finished fabrications in and out of the building, coordinating with management and quality to successfully develop fabrication and inspection procedures, and collaborate with other staff to fit and fabricate large projects efficiently. Must be able to demonstrate at least six months of successful experience at the company to be qualified.

Responsibilities:
Fit and weld steel components according to drawings and specifications

Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Vocational training or apprenticeship in welding preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a fabricator preferred
AWS D1.1 certification or equivalent preferred
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
Ability to work in a hot and noisy environment
