Job Description

Our client is a specialized building envelope consulting firm based in Seattle, providing expert services in the design, evaluation, and rehabilitation of exterior enclosure systems. With a focus on performance, durability, and constructability, the firm partners with architects, developers, and building owners to deliver high-performing building envelopes across a wide range of project types and climates.

Position Summary
The firm is seeking a Building Envelope Consultant to join its Seattle office. This role is ideal for a technically skilled professional with experience in façade systems, roofing, waterproofing, and air/water barrier assemblies. The successful candidate will support both new construction and existing building projects, offering design consulting, forensic investigation, and construction-phase services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical consulting on building envelope systems, including design review, detailing, and performance analysis.
  • Conduct field investigations, diagnostic testing, and condition assessments.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Review architectural and contractor submittals for compliance with envelope performance requirements.
  • Perform site observations and assist with construction administration.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop practical, code-compliant solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Building Science, or a related field.
  • 3-7 years of experience in building envelope consulting or a closely related discipline.
  • Familiarity with building codes, standards, and best practices related to enclosure systems.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Experience with field testing protocols (e.g., ASTM, AAMA) is a plus.
  • Professional licensure or certification (PE, RA, RRC, REWC, etc.) is preferred but not required.
