We are looking for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Environmental Permitting Coordinator to support the development and construction of electrical transmission, distribution, and substation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to support field surveys, environmental permitting processes, and the preparation and review of technical documentation.
  • Serve as a liaison among contractors, project managers, and clients regarding schedules, permitting milestones, and requirements throughout the project lifecycle (pre-, active-, and post-construction).
  • Monitor permitting processes to ensure updates and compliance requirements are communicated and implemented effectively across stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance to engineers, PMs, and field contractors on regulatory and permitting matters as needed.
  • Engage with local, state, and federal agencies to submit applications, secure approvals, and prepare responses in a timely and professional manner.
  • Offer both technical and creative input on environmental and non-environmental permitting challenges.
  • Advise clients and internal teams on optimal strategies to obtain necessary permits and remain compliant with applicable regulations.
  • Support budget and schedule adherence for project deliverables.
  • Maintain full compliance with organizational and on-site safety standards.
  • Perform additional tasks as required by project or client needs.
  • Travel may be necessary depending on project scope and client commitments.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and permitting related to wetlands, endangered species, stormwater management (NPDES), cultural resources, NEPA compliance, and local/state guidelines.
  • Understanding of construction schedules and workflows for transmission, distribution, and substation projects is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—and the ability to interact with a range of stakeholders including regulators, clients, and public officials.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a high-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ArcGIS Pro.
