This job serves as a full-time post-graduate internship which provides psychologists-in-training with a variety of clinical experiences, supervision by licensed psychologists, and didactics. Each track includes focused rotations with different patient populations, hands-on supervision/training in basic functions of psychology (assessment, therapy, and consultation) as well as didactic learning in a variety of topics. Education Required - Actively enrolled in a doctoral program in clinical, counseling, or school psychology at a regionally accredited institution Preferred - Master’s degree in Psychology, Child Psychology, Child Development, Counseling, or other relevant course of study Work Experience Required - None Certifications Required - None Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications. Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally. Strong interpersonal skills. Organizational skills. Job Duties Individual psychotherapy Psychological assessment Group psychotherapy Consultation with interdisciplinary treatment teams Attend 4 hours of didactics per week Participate in 4 hours of supervision per week Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style. The incumbent works with patients who have known or suspected communicable diseases and may enter isolation rooms. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases. Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste.
