Job Description

Thermal Engineer – Plano, TX | Emerging Tech & Energy Sector

An innovative company operating at the crossroads of technology, infrastructure, and sustainability is seeking a Thermal Engineer to join their growing team in Plano, Texas . This organization is focused on redefining how data infrastructure supports energy efficiency and environmental responsibility.

The successful candidate will work on advanced cooling technologies that support high-density computing systems. You will be responsible for designing, testing, and refining thermal hardware for next-generation platforms, with an emphasis on fluid-based and two-phase cooling systems .

This is a hands-on engineering position that requires both analytical and experimental expertise. You’ll contribute directly to product development and collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure effective thermal integration at the system level.

Responsibilities:

  • Design custom thermal hardware for high-power electronics applications
  • Conduct lab testing to evaluate thermal performance across various load conditions
  • Apply simulation tools to analyze heat transfer and fluid dynamics
  • Collaborate with design, systems, and manufacturing engineers to ensure smooth integration
  • Develop documentation for design validation, performance testing, and product qualification
  • Support prototyping, vendor coordination, and design iterations
  • Provide input into material and working fluid choices for long-term reliability and safety

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering (Master’s or PhD preferred)
  • At least 3 years of experience working with thermal/fluid systems in electronics or data centers
  • Skilled in thermal modeling and simulation (e.g., CFD, FEA tools)
  • Practical experience with heat exchangers, cold plates, or immersion cooling setups
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced setting
